Hardware Technician


TITLE: IT Hardware Technician

LOCATION: Boulder, Colorado

TYPE: 6 week contract 

COMP: $23 hourly

 

 

SUMMARY:

Our client is looking for a critical thinker and problem solver to apprentice in the IT hardware repair and system troubleshooting operations center. This individual will work alongside our lead repair technicians in a highly collaborative team environment repairing all owned technology. They support roughly: 5,000 Windows PCs, 5000 Apple Devices, 34,500 Chromebooks, 1000+ projectors/peripherals.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Chromebooks, Windows, and Apple devices and miscellaneous peripheral equipment and systems; determine the reason(s) for equipment failure and initiate appropriate action. Communicate with lead Hardware Repair Technicians on the next steps.
  • Follow vendor repair procedures, perform warranty and non-warranty repairs and submit warranty claims on vendor websites.
  • Utilize our internal IT Service Request system to maintain logs, records, files, and controls of the maintenance performed on all equipment. Look for trends/patterns for manufacturer recalls and communicate identified information to Hardware Repair Technicians.     
  • Assist the Hardware Repair Technicians as a supply contact for field personnel and maintain repair stock levels, interface, and assist Customer Service Technicians on repair issues.
  • Assist with new order processing and the setting up and enrollment of all hardware devices so they work on our internal networks.
  • Recycle the equipment and boxes accordingly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
