Compensation: $113,000- $142,000 DOE
About the Role
The Application Development Manager is responsible for designing, building, implementing, and supporting vendor-packaged and custom internal solutions that enhance the Credit Union’s core banking platform (Symitar) and other enterprise applications. This role plays a pivotal part in optimizing operational efficiency through technology, leading a team of core developers, and collaborating with business units and internal IT teams. The ideal candidate possesses strong software engineering expertise, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of Symitar PowerOn and related financial institution technologies.
Essential Functions

Lead and supervise the core development team across scrum teams and business units.

Manage resource planning, allocation, and organizational needs for application development.

Partner with the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure team delivery and participate in key stakeholder ceremonies.

Cultivate a collaborative, team-oriented work environment that values diversity, teamwork, creativity, and customer satisfaction.

Oversee software design, development, and implementation while ensuring compliance with industry best practices and internal security standards.

Develop and refine application management processes for continuous improvement.

Define design patterns, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to Elevations' coding, compliance, and information security standards.

Engage with external vendors for integrated solutions and stay updated on their strategic roadmaps to influence application architecture.
Must-Have Qualifications
-
Six (6) years of experience with financial institution technologies: Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU), MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, OpCon, etc.

Strong expertise in software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.

Proven leadership and people management experience, including coaching, mentoring, and motivating teams for project/product delivery and professional growth.

Ability to influence executive leadership and drive strategic technological initiatives.

Understanding of agile and iterative project management methodologies.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications

BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent.

Hands-on experience developing, integrating, and supporting Symitar/PowerOn / RepGen core banking applications.

Knowledge and experience with IBM’s AIX operating system.

Proficiency in SQL development for relational databases, HTML, and JavaScript.

Familiarity with the ITIL framework and experience implementing engineering processes, procedures, and templates.
