Job Title: Patient Service Representative
Location: Fairfax, VA 22031 **Could be required to cover an additional center as well if needed in Arlington/Ballston**
Schedule: Monday- Friday 10:30 AM- 7:00 PM
Compensation: $20/hourly

Responsibilities:
- Greet patients in a professional, friendly, and welcoming manner.
- Accurately register patients, including inputting demographic and insurance information into the Radiology Information System (RIS) and verifying the accuracy of existing information.
- Explain forms to patients and assist with completing them, either on paper or tablet, as necessary.
- Scan and link required documents to the patient’s medical record while maintaining confidentiality.
- Collect patient payments and, when necessary, explain benefits based on insurance verification.
- Escort patients to the dressing area, explain the dressing procedure, and provide wait time information.
- Prepare paperwork for future appointments, including any additional documentation required for specific exams or payors.
- Ensure all diagnostic tests have the necessary orders and follow up on outstanding requests.
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments as necessary.
- Generate daily invoice journal and reconcile payments using the Daily Reconciliation Report.
- Communicate effectively with patients and other staff members in both one-on-one and small group settings.
- Participate in ongoing front office training to stay up-to-date with procedures and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma (required).
- Two years of healthcare registration or customer service experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cash handling and medical terminology (preferred).
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written or oral instructions.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with RIS software preferred.
