About the Opportunity
Epic Placements is partnering with a rapidly growing cybersecurity professional services organization to add a Senior Zscaler Engineer to its team.
This is a high-impact opportunity supporting complex security environments for large enterprise and public-sector organizations, including Fortune 100-scale environments. You'll work directly with customers to design, implement, troubleshoot, and strengthen Zscaler solutions across highly distributed environments where security, resiliency, performance, and availability matter.
We're looking for someone who knows Zscaler well beyond day-to-day administration. The right engineer has spent years designing and implementing ZIA and ZPA environments, understands how to build for resiliency and disaster recovery, and can comfortably lead technical conversations with customers.
If you enjoy owning complex security projects, working directly with enterprise customers, and being the person people turn to when the Zscaler environment really matters, this could be a great fit.
What You'll Do
-
Design, implement, optimize, and troubleshoot enterprise Zscaler environments.
-
Serve as a senior technical resource across Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).
-
Design and support disaster recovery and resiliency strategies for ZIA and ZPA environments.
-
Implement and support Zscaler for Workloads within complex enterprise environments.
-
Work with Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX) for monitoring, visibility, reporting, and troubleshooting.
-
Lead customer-facing technical discussions, architecture conversations, troubleshooting sessions, and implementation activities.
-
Evaluate existing customer environments and recommend scalable, secure Zscaler solutions.
-
Troubleshoot complex connectivity, access, performance, and security issues.
-
Produce technical documentation, architecture recommendations, implementation plans, and operational guidance.
-
Collaborate with internal engineering teams and customer stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
-
Support additional enterprise Zscaler engagements as new customer needs arise.
What We're Looking For
-
5+ years of hands-on experience specifically with Zscaler technologies.
-
Deep production experience with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA).
-
Deep production experience with Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).
-
Hands-on experience with Zscaler for Workloads.
-
Experience with Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX).
-
Proven experience designing, implementing, testing, or supporting Disaster Recovery solutions involving ZIA and ZPA.
-
Current or relevant Zscaler certification.
-
Strong understanding of Zero Trust, secure access, network security, and modern enterprise security architecture.
-
Experience designing and implementing solutions—not solely administering or monitoring existing environments.
-
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex enterprise environments.
-
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
-
Comfortable working directly with customers and serving as a trusted technical advisor.
-
Ability to work primarily across Central and Eastern time zones, with flexibility to support customers in other U.S. time zones when needed.
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Zscaler Digital Transformation Engineer certification.
-
Experience with Zscaler Branch Connector.
-
Professional Services, cybersecurity consulting, MSSP, vendor engineering, or Resident Engineer experience.
-
Experience delivering Zscaler implementations across multiple enterprise customers.
-
Background supporting large, distributed or highly regulated environments.
-
Broader experience with SASE, SSE, Zero Trust, cloud security, and enterprise network security.
Why You'll Love This Opportunity
-
Work on sophisticated Zscaler environments supporting some of the largest organizations in the country.
-
Take real ownership of architecture, implementation, troubleshooting, and customer outcomes.
-
Join a growing cybersecurity professional services organization with continued project demand.
-
Work remotely with only minimal travel.
-
Collaborate with experienced engineers while remaining close to the technology.
-
Step into an immediate, high-priority project with the potential for additional long-term engagements.
