About the Role
Our client, a leading organization in the banking industry, is seeking a Data Governance Lead to spearhead the development of foundational data governance initiatives. This individual will work within the Office of Strategy Management to establish and scale governance policies, processes, and compliance frameworks that drive data accuracy, integrity, and readiness for enterprise reporting and analytics.
This is a high-impact, hybrid role based in Denver, CO. You’ll play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities

Define and implement an enterprise-wide data governance framework

Document data policies, domain ownership, stewardship roles, and working team structures

Lead efforts in cataloging, classifying, and defining data fields

Establish workflows for governance processes and support audit/compliance readiness

Drive integration of governance practices into the SDLC and cross-functional systems

Build reporting dashboards and KPIs for performance tracking and business intelligence

Promote data literacy and a culture of data-driven decision making
Ideal Background
-
6+ years in data governance, data science, or advanced analytics roles

Proven experience with tools like SQL, R, Python, and platforms such as Azure Synapse, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric

Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Collibra)

Skilled in Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization/reporting tools

Previous experience in banking, credit unions, or financial services highly preferred

Excellent stakeholder management, project leadership, and communication skills
