Title:                 Client Data Specialist I
Location:           Remote
Pay Rate:          $30/hr W2 + Benefits
Duration:           12 month+ Contract (potential for contract to hire)

Job Summary:
Client Data Specialist analyzes and interprets cession, premium, reserve and claims risk information submitted by assumed client companies. Resolves inconsistencies and errors through research and investigation with internal and external sources; recommends, determines, and implements necessary changes to properly accept or reject risk data for company use. Consults with and provides expertise to management on general client company data trends and individualized client company issues.

Essential Functions:
Client Data Receipt, Standardization & Publication:
Receives, standardizes and publishes various formats and types of client data timely and accurately for availability in stakeholder’s processes. Recognizes any client file changes required (due to layout, system conversions, product code updates), and proactively analyses, builds, tests, and implements client company maps to produce desired data set.

Assumed Cession Profile:
Manages the loading of assigned company data files and manual cession builds to the administration system.  Examines, researches and resolves errors with the cession profile to ensure correct allocation and representation of risk.

Client Relationships:
Develops and maintains professional client relationships with both internal and external clients utilizing expertise to support problem-solving and production turnaround expectations.

Data Quality:
Manages end-to-end data integrity checks to help identify, escalate, and promptly address any data quality issues to minimize errors with published data.

Projects, Compliance & Training:
Participates in projects assuming leadership role for assigned area of expertise, creates and maintains client specific documentation, and provides training within areas of expertise to support the department. Adheres to established compliance and information security protocols to meet the intended safeguards.

Essential knowledge skills and abilities:
 

  • College degree in related field (Business, Math) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in insurance, reinsurance, financial services and/or information management
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment and manage internal and external demands of position with only minimal supervision
  • Ability to exercise sound discretion with regards to decision-making and resolving non-standard situations 
  • Ability to offer informal leadership through directions and actions
  • Proven analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Proven organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines
  • Proven interpersonal skills for work internally across departments, as well as with clients
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Lookups, Pivot Tables)

Desired knowledge skills and abilities:
 

  • Life reinsurance/insurance knowledge
  • Professional designation: FLMI, ACS, or ARA
  • Familiarity or aptitude with data mapping and querying tools (SAS, Actian Data Connect, SQL)
  • Reinsurance data analysis experience (TAI)
  • Project participation and leadership in various business or technical projects
