Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite – 5 days/week)
Compensation: $200,000 – $270,000 + Equity + Potential Sign-On Bonus
Type: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

Epic Placements is partnered with a venture-backed startup building AI-powered systems that support critical healthcare workflows across the country.

This team is focused on improving how providers navigate complex processes like prior authorizations, appeals, and patient interactions — ultimately helping people get access to life-saving care faster and with less friction.

They’re backed by top-tier investors (YC, General Catalyst, Conviction) and are already seeing strong traction:

  • 20+ enterprise customers

  • Tracking toward $20M ARR

  • Proven founding team (successful exit + early engineering leadership at Hebbia)

This is an opportunity to join early and help shape both the product experience and frontend architecture at a company moving quickly.

What You’ll Own

This is a high-impact frontend role with real ownership — not a ticket-taking position.

  • Architect and scale a modern frontend ecosystem using React, TypeScript, and Next.js

  • Build mission-critical UI systems used by healthcare providers and operational teams

  • Design intuitive experiences for complex, data-heavy workflows powered by AI

  • Partner closely with backend and product teams to define APIs and system boundaries

  • Drive best practices around performance, scalability, and maintainability

  • Ship quickly and iterate in a fast-moving, product-driven environment

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of frontend engineering experience

  • Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architecture

  • Proven experience building 0 ? 1 products at a venture-backed startup (required)

  • Experience operating in high-talent, fast-paced engineering environments

  • Strong product sense with a focus on UX and usability

  • Ability to work with high ownership and autonomy

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Next.js and modern frontend frameworks

  • Exposure to backend systems (Node.js, Python, Postgres)

  • Experience building or working with AI-driven or data-heavy applications

  • Background or interest in healthcare / health outcomes

Who You Are

  • You’ve built products from scratch — not just maintained them

  • You thrive in early-stage, startup environments

  • You move quickly and take ownership of outcomes

  • You care deeply about user experience and product quality

  • You want to be part of something early, meaningful, and high-growth

Why This Role

  • Early seat at a high-growth, VC-backed startup

  • Opportunity to shape core product experience and architecture

  • Work on systems that directly impact real patient outcomes

  • Strong compensation + meaningful equity upside

  • Collaborative, high-caliber team with a strong product focus
