Desktop Support Specialist – Contract to Hire

Be the hands-on IT presence driving a critical technology upgrade.

We’re partnering with a highly respected Colorado-based organization to support a large-scale hardware refresh project. This is a boots-on-the-ground role for someone who enjoys structured project work, face-to-face user interaction, and the satisfaction of modernizing an organization’s technology environment.

You’ll play a key role in refreshing and deploying end-user hardware — preparing systems, coordinating swaps, supporting users during transitions, and ensuring a smooth, professional rollout across the organization.

This is a project-focused contract with a defined scope, clear timelines, and strong on-site collaboration.


What You’ll Do:

  • Deploy and refresh desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals

  • Perform workstation swaps with minimal disruption to end users

  • Image, configure, and validate new hardware prior to deployment

  • Provide white-glove, in-person support during hardware transitions

  • Troubleshoot hardware and basic software issues during rollout

  • Support printers, phones, and conference room equipment as needed

  • Document deployments, asset assignments, and issues in the ticketing system

  • Coordinate closely with internal IT teams to stay aligned on rollout schedules

  • Escalate complex issues to engineering teams when required


Technical Environment:

  • Windows 10/11
  • Microsoft Office & O365
  • Active Directory
  • SCCM
  • Dell & HP desktops/laptops
  • HP network and label printers
  • PXE boot environments
  • ???????Azure and MS Exchange experience a plus
  • Citrix thin/thick/zero clients
  • Mobile device support (iOS / Android)
  • SharePoint documentation
  • Ticketing systems (ServiceNow or similar)

Requirements:

  • Prior experience supporting or participating in hardware refresh or deployment projects

  • Desktop support experience in an enterprise or healthcare environment preferred

  • Strong customer service and communication skills — heavy user interaction

  • Comfortable working on-site and moving between departments

  • Must pass a background check and drug screen

  • Flu vaccination required (exemptions permitted)
